Before we await Julia Lezhneva full of excitement and anticipation in September 2023 in a renewed collaboration with stage director and countertenor Max Emanuel Cencic in Bayreuth, this time in Handel's FLAVIO, RE DE`LONGOBARDI, here is a synopsis of the press reviews of the last collaboration of the two exceptional artists in Porpora's IL POLIFEMO (Bayreuth 2021) and CARLO IL CALVO (Bayreuth 2020).

In 2020, the new Bayreuth Baroque Festival opened with Porpora's CARLO IL CALVO, and a studio recording was released in January 2023. The FAZ wrote: " After acclaimed performances of Intendant Max Emanuel Cencic's atmospheric production, George Petrou has now recorded the three-act opera for the first time with his (original sound orchestra Armonia Atenea (Parnassus Arts))." Further: "Franco Fagioli and Julia Lezhneva celebrate that heavenly duet (we are talking about "Dimmi che m'ami") so beautiful that it almost hurts." - "Thirteen minutes of pure bliss ".

The Gramophone magazine pays tribute to the CD-production in its current August issue: “Julia Lezhneva gets around Gildippe’s fiendishly difficult quick passages with agility…”

The following could be read about the performance of IL POLIFEMO in Wiesbaden in May 2023: "As Galatea, however, she captivates the audience all the more with her fresh charisma, her brilliant coloratura and her lyrical subtlety" (link to the article);  the FAZ spoke of "vocal overwhelmingness".
