Making His Debut as Focus Artist: Thibaut Garcia at the Rheingau Festival

Thibaut Garcia captivated the audience with his debut concert as a Focus Artist at the Rheingau Music Festival 2025.

The performance took place on July 4th – an atmospheric open-air concert experience held in the cloisters of Kloster Eberbach. Together with the Festival Strings Lucerne under the lead of Daniel Dodds, Thibaut Garcia showcased his full expressive power and virtuosity.

In an article of the Allgemeine Zeitung / Wiesbadener Kurier dated July 8, 2025, Christian Knatz wrote:

“Three solo pieces in succession demonstrate how Garcia, with six strings and immense skill, can truly shine. Mauro Giuliani’s Grande Ouverture cleverly blends the registers of the guitar with genuine polyphony to evoke the impression of an orchestra; Thibaut Garcia further enhances this diversity with numerous variations in tempo, phrasing and -yes- even dynamics. In a sonata movement by Niccolò Paganini, the soloist shows—during the first of his six Rheingau appearances—how quiet playing, subtly amplified, can fill the cloister with sound."
