Festival Prečkanja – Sconfinamenti

The Festival Prečkanja – Sconfinamenti officially opens today under the artistic direction of pianist Alexander Gadjiev, who is not only a founding member and Programme Director of the project but also serves as an ambassador for the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025. Developed in close collaboration with Gadjiev, the festival aims to transform the cross-border Slovenian-Italian region into a vibrant hub for classical music throughout 2024 and 2025, in line with the spirit of GO! 2025.
A cross-border cooperation organized by Glasbena matica of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Imago Sloveniae Foundation, the festival will welcome a number of outstanding artists and offer a rich programme of concerts, residencies, and masterclasses. This year’s edition takes place from June 23 to July 6, across multiple venues in Nova Gorica, Gorizia, Čedad, and Ljubljana. All events are free of charge.
The programme focuses on top-level classical performances, with a strong emphasis on emerging international talents — the stars of tomorrow. In addition to public concerts, young musicians will participate in masterclasses led by world-class performers and pedagogues, including Gadjiev himself.
