Chouchane Siranossian Receives ZHdK Honorary Companion Award
Zurich, 25 June 2026. At the annual Hochschultag (University Day) of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), violinist Chouchane Siranossian was honoured alongside artist Tobias Gutmann with the title “Honorary Companion ZHdK” in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
The distinction was awarded to Chouchane Siranossian, who graduated from ZHdK in 2007 with a Soloist Diploma in Violin with distinction. Through her international career, she has become a leading representative of a new generation of musicians. Equally at home in Baroque, Classical-Romantic, and contemporary repertoire, she combines artistic excellence with remarkable versatility as a soloist, researcher, and artistic initiator.
In her welcoming address, Silvia Steiner, Member of the Cantonal Government and Director of Education, highlighted the importance of the arts in a society undergoing profound transformation. She described creativity as the foundation of innovation, emphasized the arts’ role in inspiring public dialogue, and underscored their value as a space for intellectual reflection. She also praised ZHdK as an institution with an international reputation that nurtures emerging artists and makes a significant contribution to the creative economy of the Canton of Zurich.
With this annual distinction, ZHdK honours alumni whose artistic achievements and personal commitment make them outstanding ambassadors for the university.
