From the very beginning of his career as a soloist, Giuliano Carmignola performed in the most important international concert halls and worked with musical greats such as Claudio Abbado, Giovanni Antonini, Ivor Bolton, Frans Brüggen, Ottavio Dantone, Richard Egarr, Daniele Gatti, Christopher Hogwood, Eliahu Inbal, Peter Maag, Andrea Marcon, Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli, Trevor Pinnok, Giuseppe Sinopoli.

His collaboration first with the Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca and now with the Venice Baroque Orchestra has made Carmignola a leading figure in the Baroque violin style, especially in 18th century Italian music. Over many years he has also played with the Ensemble Virtuosi di Roma, Concerto Köln, Orchestra da Camera Mantova, Orchestra Mozart, Orchestre des Champs-Elysées, the Basel Chamber Orchestra, Il Giardino Armonico, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, the Accademia Bizantina and others.

For several years Giuliano Carmignola has been a welcome guest conductor with orchestras such as the Academy of Ancient Music, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris and most recently with the KlangVerwaltung Orchestra, where he conducted Mozart's "Jupiter Symphony" at Herrenchiemsee Castle.

Giuliano Carmignola has been under exclusive contract to Deutsche Grammophon since 2004. He has also recorded for Erato, Divox Antiqua and Sony. Among his recordings, the following deserve special mention: "Concerti per due Violini" by Antonio Vivaldi with the Venice Baroque Orchestra and Viktoria Mullova (DG); the recording of the complete Mozart concertos together with Claudio Abbado and the Orchestra Mozart (DG); Haydn "Violin Concertos" with the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées (DG), "Vivaldi con moto" with the Accademia Bizantina conducted by Ottavio Dantone (DG). His CD "Bach: Violin Concertos" together with Concerto Köln received a "Diapason d'Or" in 2015. Together with the Basel Chamber Orchestra (cond. Giovanni Antonini), Sol Gabetta and Dejan Lazic, he recorded Beethoven's Triple Concerto (SONY). His recording "Vivaldi Concerti per due violini" with Amandine Beyer and the Ensemble Gli Incogniti was also awarded a Diapason d'Or.

With the young ensemble Accademia dell' Annunciata under the direction of Riccardo Doni, he recorded the CD "Giardini, J. Ch. Bach - Concerti per violino e orchestra" for the Amadeus label in 2016. This production was awarded the "Premio" prize by Amadeus magazine (September 2017).

In October 2018 his CD "J.S. Bach: Sontatas & Partitas BWV 1001 - 1006" was released by Deutsche Grammophon.

In 2020 he recorded the double concertos by Vivaldi and Bach together with Mario Brunello for ARCANA Outhere-music; in autumn 2022 "Bach: 6 Suites a Violoncello Solo Senza Basso" were released on the same label; further projects are planned.
