Valer Sabadus and SPARK captivate audiences with “Closer to Paradise” in Corvey
On 13 September 2026, Valer Sabadus joined SPARK – the classical band as part of the Via Nova Arts Festival in Corvey, performing their programme Closer to Paradise to an enthusiastic audience.
At the heart of the programme is the theme of longing: the longing for a better world, for closeness, freedom and a personal paradise. Closer to Paradise knows no genre boundaries. Baroque arias by Handel and Vivaldi meet Romantic sounds, French melancholy and contemporary music, ranging from Depeche Mode to Rammstein.
With creative arrangements and an infectious sense of musical energy, the musicians created a diverse programme that playfully dissolved the boundaries between different eras and genres.
In the unique atmosphere of Corvey, Closer to Paradise took the audience on a journey between dream and reality, melody and melancholy, past and present. The result was an extraordinary concert experience that explored the search for personal paradise through a wide range of musical worlds.
