Prizewinners' concert will be broadcast on 17.11.24

In the 2023 festival summer, they each won one of the three coveted prizes of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival in the “Young Elite” series. Cellist Benjamin Kruithof, guitarist Thibaut García and the Pacific Quintet - who have just returned victorious from the ARD competition in Munich - are now also part of the festival family. Traditionally, the prizewinners are welcomed with a gala concert. This year it took place in the MMG production hall in Waren - an unusual but effective setting for delicate chamber music by Bach, Beethoven and Debussy. Another tradition of this special evening is that all the young musicians perform together on stage in the finale - with a new piece of music arranged especially for the occasion. How can cello, guitar and woodwinds be combined? In a tango by Piazzolla!
