New ECHO Co-Commission for Petar Pejčić

In the 2026/27 season, Petar Pejčić will expand his repertoire with a new work by Serbian-Swedish composer Đuro Živković (b. 1975).

The Icon (approx. 10 minutes) was composed in 2026 as a co-commission by Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Palau de la Música Catalana, and the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO), and is dedicated to Petar Pejčić.

Petar will perform the work throughout his ECHO Rising Stars tour across Europe, presenting it either in a version for solo cello or for cello and piano, depending on the programme. With The Icon, Petar continues to expand his contemporary repertoire and further strengthens his commitment to collaborating with leading composers of our time.
