On 12 and 13 May 2026, French double bassist Marc André presented the world premiere of Ivan Boumans’ double bass concerto Carnets de voyage at the Saal am Lindaplatz (SAL) in Schaan. Together with the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Sebastian Lang-Lessing, he performed the three-movement work, which musically journeyed through Vienna, Paris, and New York while placing the double bass at the center as a narrative, colorfully nuanced, and virtuoso solo voice.

In the Liechtensteiner Vaterland, Julia Kaufmann wrote on 15 May 2026:

“With elegant tone, technical sovereignty, and impressive stage presence, he demonstrated the full range of his instrument: from powerful statements to finely spun melodic lines.”
“His tone appeared sensual and soft, yet always clearly guided. […] Above all his equally brilliant playing, which combined emotional depth with absolute control.”

In the Vorarlberger Nachrichten, Andreas Marte wrote on 16 May 2026:

“His tone possesses warmth, substance, and suppleness, together with that rare ability never to seem strained, even in virtuosity. […] He revealed the instrument’s own dignity: dark, agile, lyrical, at times melancholic, then again surprisingly light.”
