Le Concert de la Loge wins the German Record Critics' Award

The orchestra Le Concert de la Loge, conducted by Julien Chauvin, has received the German Record Critics' Award.
Gluck's “Iphigénie en Aulide” has never before been recorded with historical instrumentation, and the bold initiative of Le Concert de la Loge and its founder Julien Chauvin was an immediate success.
Jury chairman Michael Stallknecht put it this way:
“This recording makes audible why Gluck achieved his final breakthrough in Paris with this opera: the immediacy, the naturalness, ultimately the humane.”
“Le Concert de la Loge and its founder Julien Chauvin have now taken the plunge - and won immediately: through their dramatic breath and their high narrative tempo, but also through the fabulous ensemble of singers.”
