Javier Perianes acclaimed for Ravel with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie in Saarbrücken

On 6 September 2026, Javier Perianes performed Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie under Chief Conductor Josep Pons at the Congresshalle Saarbrücken, opening the orchestra’s new season.  

Helmut Fackler wrote in the Saarbrücker Zeitung on 6 September 2026:

“[Javier Perianes] mastered the concerto and all its intricacies with complete assurance, joining forces with the orchestra with joy of playing and artistry. An experience that could hardly have been better.”

Following the enthusiastic applause, Perianes returned to the stage for an encore, performing a piano arrangement of Manuel de Falla’s “Ritual Fire Dance” (Canción de fuego fatuo) from the ballet El amor brujo. The critic wrote: “Furiously played!”
