Final Concert by Thibaut Garcia, Focus Artist of the Rheingau Music Festival

On Thursday, August 14, Thibaut Garcia, this year’s focus artist of the Rheingau Music Festival, gave his sixth and final concert in the Fürst von Metternich Hall at Schloss Johannisberg in Geisenheim-Johannisberg. Under the theme “Presenting Young Talents,” Garcia and his students presented a diverse program featuring works by Maurice Ravel, Enrique Granados, Claude Debussy, Georges Bizet, and Isaac Albéniz, as well as the world premiere of Khamsa for 5 Guitars by Robin Tahar. The composer himself took part in the performance, offering the audience a direct encounter with his work.

Not only did Thibaut Garcia shine as a soloist, but he also showcased four of his young guitar students, taking the audience on an impressive musical journey through French, Spanish, and classical guitar music—thus crowning the festival’s focus series.
