Concerto Köln and Max Volbers Bring Baroque Europe to Life at the Herrenchiemsee Festival

On 20 July 2026, Concerto Köln, led by concertmaster Evgeny Sviridov, joined recorder virtuoso Max Volbers for a performance at the Herrenchiemsee Festival, presenting a programme featuring works by George Frideric Handel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann, Giuseppe Sammartini, Antonio Vivaldi, and the as-yet unidentified London composer known as Mrs Philarmonica.

The programme took audiences on a musical journey through different regions of Europe, highlighting the distinct national stylistic traditions of the Baroque. With stylistic authenticity, expressive musicianship, and remarkable ensemble playing, it became a tribute to the shared cultural heritage of the Baroque.
