Chouchane Siranossian releases second Janiewicz recording with the {oh!} Orkiestra
On 7 November 2025, the label NIF issued a new CD featuring Chouchane Siranossian and the {oh!} Orkiestra under the direction of Martyna Pastuszka, containing Feliks Janiewicz’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in F major and Mozart’s Symphony No. 27 (KV 199). Janiewicz’s concerto, published in Paris in 1788, is characterised by a demanding solo part and a chamber-orchestral scoring; the recording fills a gap in the repertoire and broadens the horizon of European music history.
On ResMusica on 30 November 2025, Jean-Pierre Robert wrote:
“This recording invites us to discover and enjoy his Violin Concerto No. 1 in F major (1788), in which the composer shapes music that is forward-driving, lively, optimistic and pleasant to the ear—qualities generously distributed across its three movements: Moderato, Romance and Rondo. The virtuoso violin of Chouchane Siranossian, flashing and springing forth, is truly impressive and will surely help increase the recognition of this far too little appreciated composer.”
