Chouchane Siranossian releases third Janiewicz recording with {oh!} Orkiestra
Following their acclaimed recordings dedicated to Feliks Janiewicz, Chouchane Siranossian, {oh!} Orkiestra and Martyna Pastuszka present the third album in their Janiewicz series on the NIFC label.
Released on 14 May 2026, the album combines Janiewicz’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in E minor with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 in A major, shedding light on the musical world in which the Polish violin virtuoso and composer worked.
The release forms part of a long-term project by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, encompassing all of Janiewicz’s violin concertos alongside the complete Mozart symphonies performed on period instruments.
Feliks Janiewicz is regarded as one of the important figures of Polish and European musical culture in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. In addition to his career as a violin virtuoso and composer, he was also active as a cultural organiser and was among the co-founders of the first music festival in Edinburgh.
His works combine classical elegance with cantabile melodic writing, reflecting both the influence of Mozart and stylistic developments at the threshold of early Romanticism.
Further releases in the Janiewicz series are planned for next year.
