At the matinee concert of the Schwetzingen Festival, Yaara Tal, Andreas Groethuysen, Raphaela Gromes, and Daniel Dodds captivated the audience with “Sinfonische Miniaturen” – masterful chamber arrangements of grand symphonic works, interpreted with fiery energy and exquisite ensemble balance.

The program featured Emilie Mayer’s dramatic Faust Overture in an arrangement by Julian Riem, the first movement of Mozart’s famous g minor Symphony, KV 550, arranged by Carl Burchard, and the second movement of Schubert’s Great C Major Symphony, D 944, in an arrangement by Friedrich Hermann.

" Schubert’s D 944, constantly pressing forward with rhythmic insistence, also earned applause between movements. Little wonder – the musicians themselves could barely stay seated, such was the fervor with which they fueled the music’s dotted rhythms.
...
The motor-like resonance of the cello, alternating with the piano’s relentless four-chord motif, built to a climax of rapturous applause. "
