Chamber Music Intensity Meets Creative Freedom

At the concert evening in the Beethoven Piano Club in Bonn, Yaara Tal, Andreas Groethuysen, Raphaela Gromes, and Daniel Dodds presented an extraordinary chamber version of works by Mozart, Schubert, and Beethoven – cleverly conceived and compellingly interpreted.

The centerpiece of the program featured Mozart's Symphony in G minor, KV 550, and Schubert's "Great" Symphony in C major, D 944 – two works that exemplify symphonic storytelling at its most impressive form. Beethoven's famous first movement of the 5th Symphony was also presented from a novel chamber music perspective. You can check the full article here.

"In Mozart, the motifs were practically extracted from the score, while the immense dimensions of Schubert's work were presented in a condensed yet completely organic and clear form. Even Beethoven’s most famous symphonic movement sounded as fresh, transparent, and multi-hued as it rarely does in many orchestral versions."

The quartet also impressed at the Schubertiade on April 26 in Hohenems:

"Tal and Groethuysen impressed from the very beginning with perfect ensemble playing and sensitive musical communication. Daniel Dodds added another touching dimension to the sound with his wonderfully warm and vibrant violin tone."

"Raphaela Gromes, in particular, shone with outstanding tonal quality and intense expressiveness."

"Above all, Raphaela Gromes once again took the opportunity to showcase her impressive virtuosity and deep musical devotion."
