Petite Messe Solennelle (Rossini) with the Duo Tal & Groethuysen on SRF 2 Kultur on April 20th, 2014

In the evening on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2014, at 9pm, the Swiss radio station, SRF 2 Kultur, broadcasts Gioacchino Rossini's "Petite messe solennelle" – with the piano duo, Tal & Groethuysen, among others.

This broadcast features an excerpt from the concert together with the Bavarian Radio Choir under the baton of Howard Arman that took place on April 13th in the Culture and Congress Center in Lucerne as part of the Lucerne Festival at Easter.

Soloists include:
Regula Mühlemann, Soprano
Marianna Pizzolato, Mezzo-soprano
Dominik Wortig, Tenor
Mika Kares, Bass
Max Hanft, Harmonium

Information regarding the program and work can be found under SRF 2 Kultur. Also featured is Tal & Groethuysen's CD recording of Rossini's "Petite messe solennelle" newly released on April 11th.

This new release was already reviewed by the Neue Lucerner Journal on April 9th, 2014: "The paradox that this concert in the form of a CD can already be discussed before it has actually taken place fits to the ambivalent character of Gioacchino Rossini's 'Petite Messe solennelle' that closes the Festival at Easter on Sunday. (…) The streamlined piano transcription by the piano duo, Tal & Groethuysen, is truly captivating: With a lively, articulated sound, the colours of which nevertheless extend all the way to pathos and solemn Bach references."
