Julia Lezhneva - "gold-plated"

Julia Lezhneva is artist in residence at Kissinger Sommer 2019 and on tour with La Voce Strumentale in Bad Kissingen, Burghausen (Europäischen Wochen), Kiel (SHMF), Innsbruck (Festwochen alter Musik) and Sion.

The opening of the Tour in Bad Kissingen was highly acclaimed by the press as well as the concert in Burghausen. Please read through the press reviews and enjoy!

Saale Zeitung: Concert in Bad Kissingen 29.6.2019

"It (the performance) was - and here we are again at the superlatives - a real sensation. The soprano simply overcame the audience with her incredible virtuosity and presence.

.... an incredible agility in the voice, with which they can do things their colleagues cannot do, a merciless accuracy in intonation and articulation, an enormous lightness, but also intensity in the treatment of long tones and the shaping of emotions - and a pleasure in the difficulties." Passauer Neue Presse 30.6.2019 concert in Burghausen

"With her voice full of sensuality and warmth, Lezhneva seems to effortlessly flow through the most technically demanding passages, beguiling with masterful technique and theatrical expressiveness in equal measure, always placing her technical brilliance at the service of the music. Sometimes imploring, sometimes longing, sometimes angry, sometimes sumptuous, she enters the pieces with intimate devotion and brings a fantastic variety of emotions to the sound." Duo recital Julia Lezhneva with Mikhail Shekhtman: Saalezeitung 5.7.2019

"... that Julia Lezhneva does not concentrate on the "canto fiorito", but has also successfully arrived in the "canto naturale", that she also deals with music beyond the Baroque, that she deals with the art song. ... What impressed her again was her absolute technical-intonatoric sovereignty, which allows her to do everything with her voice that is conceivable, her creative competence. Julia Lezhneva knows exactly what she is singing about, how she creates the emotional curves in order to unfold the greatest possible effect." Link to the article

The final concert of the Kissinger Summer brought the journalists to enthusiasm again: (Mainpost on 16.7.2019)

"There (ah, perfido by Beethoven) she sings the orchestra into the ground, there she chases through melodies and coloraturas - and she is one of the few singers who really distinguish exactly between coloraturas and trills. ... Here (Exsultate by Mozart) it was the pleasure in the virtuoso joyful coloratura that drove Julia Lezhneva to the top, especially in the concluding "Alleluia". Link to the article

The Kieler Nachrichten (17.7.2019) praise the concert in the Kieler Schloss as part of the SHMF in the highest tones:

"The warmth and gentle intensity of the central position is already extraordinary, from which the height glitters like flying sparks. The registers of the lyrically small but at the same time radiantly room-filling voice are seamlessly interlinked. The high pianos float tenderly and intensively and sometimes stunningly into infinity". Link to the article

The Flensburger Tageblatt writes on 18.7.2019:

"... Julia Lezhneva then let Bach's conciliatory splendour shine through and enchanted, among other things, the audience in the famous "Laudamus te" with perfect breathing technique, unwavering intonation purity and radiant high-altitude exhilarations. ..."
