The Regensburger Domspatzen are touring Germany again this year with a pre-Christmas programme and have once again touched many hearts. An enthusiastic audience gathered at the Friedenskirche in Monheim-Baumberg on 09.12.2022 and the Allgemeine Zeitung Coesfeld noted that the theatre there had rarely been so well attended as for this year's "Vom Himmel hoch" programme by the Regensburger Domspatzen, and went on to write:
"Singing in up to seven voices, the 42 singers interpreted Christmas carols from the 16th century to the present day. It was one big celebration under the theme "From Heaven High", because in all the songs the expectation of the coming of the Lord was told in German and Latin texts.[...] Individual soloists on the piano and as singers also enriched the programme which was not easy, all beautifully ordered and organised and without moderation by [Christian] Heiß."

In the coming year we can look forward to many more beautiful projects, the Christmas concerts will of course remain an important part. In 2025, the Regensburger Domspatzen will then celebrate their 1050th anniversary with a programmatic focus on the music of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, whose 500th birthday will also be celebrated in 2025.
