With their programme "A sa guitare", Philippe Jaroussy and Thibaut Garcia were guests at the Musikfest Bremen and the Rheingau Musik Festival on 26 and 28 August 2022 and convinced the audience with their versatile programme.

While Philippe Jaroussky was awarded the prize of the Musikfest Bremen, Thibaut Garcia also convinced with a recital at the Musikfest Bremen.

"But with the intensity of their performances, the perfectly harmonising duo managed to create an almost chamber-musical intimacy in no time at all." (Weser Kurier, 27.08.2022, Gerd Klingeberg)

"Again and again the singer proved his extraordinary ability to convincingly convey the emotions and poetry of the texts set to music with expressively lyrical vocalisation." (Weser Kurier, 27.08.2022, Gerd Klingeberg)

"Garcia convinced with consistently excellent, subtly accentuated guitar accompaniment." (Weser Kurier, 27.08.2022, Gerd Klingeberg)

"Sixteen times there was applause plus welcome and encore applause in the Wiesbaden Ringkirche." (Frankfurter Rundschau, 29.08.2022, Bernhard Uske)

"Somewhat edgier and more meltless, but this was not detrimental to the homogeneous flow of the vocal lines: gloss mutated into silk matt." (Frankfurter Rundschau, 29.08.2022, Bernhard Uske)

"The most glaring example was in the middle of Schubert's Goethe song 'Erlkönig', whose piano part Garcia charmingly mastered on guitar, while Jaroussky made the direct speech clear with timbre changes." (FAZ, 30.08.2022, Guido Holze)

"That it came to such a convincing performance, however, was also due to the guitarist Thibaut Garcia, an extraordinarily versatile and soulful interpreter, who was equally at home with the delicate accompaniment as with dashing sounds, something of Gerardo Matos Rodriguez's rousing 'La Cumparsita'." (Frankfurter Neue Presse, 30/08/2022, Matthias Gerhart)

"Mozart's 'Abendempfindung' succeeded particularly tenderly and gracefully under guitar accompaniment, and even the legendary Schubert setting of Goethe's 'Erlkönig' appeared in a new light, especially in the tonal painting of the dying child in the final bars." (Frankfurter Neue Presse, 30.08.2022, Matthias Gerhart)

"Thibaut Garcia is considered a guitar shooting star, and not without reason, his playing from the discreet renaissance tone to the percussive flamenco has to inspire." (Wiesbadener Kurier, 30.08.2022, Stefan Schickhaus)

"But he is serious, puts power into the ballad [Der Erlkönig], makes it exciting and touching." (Wiesbadener Kurier, 30.08.2022, Stefan Schickhaus)
