Andrea Marcon celebrates great success at La Scala in Milan with the baroque opera "Li zite ngalera" by Leonardo Vinci.
The premiere on 4 April 2023 was broadcasted on RAI Radio 3, followed by further performances on 12, 15 and 18 April. The dernière on 21 April can be experienced live on LaScala TV.
The story takes place on Neapolitan soil: Bernardo Saddumene's irresistible verses in the local dialect have their own charm, disguises and misunderstandings make for a rousing comedy. Andrea Marcon conducts the opera orchestra on period instruments, joined by the La Cetra Barockorchester Basel, and is already highly praised by the press. The newspaper La Repubblica writes: "[...] Conductor Andrea Marcon, at the podium of a mixed instrumental ensemble, chiselled the pieces of music, highlighting their variety and character through imaginative planning of rhythm and dynamics. He pulled the strings of a concerto with amusing authority, where the voices were tasked with diluting an orchestral fabric rendered in black and white."

The cast is of Neapolitan mother tongue: Chiara Amarù, Francesca Pia Vitale, Francesca Aspromonte, Marco Filippo Romano, Raffaele Pe, Filippo Mineccia. Staging: Leo Muscato.
